Spartans (11-16) tumbled by Benet in ESCC battle |

Mark Scott was 2-for-4 with a double, steal and two runs, but host Marian Catholic still dropped a 7-4 ESCC decision to Benet on Monday. Ryan Owczarek was 2-for-3 with a run for the Spartans (11-1,6 5-12), who dropped their third straight tilt while outhitting the opposition (8-7 on Monday).
Sophs: Rick Montoya hurled the Spartans to a 5-3 complete-game victory over the Redwings, as Danny Vargas and Mike Karwoski each cracked three hits.
Frosh: The Spartans fell to Benet, 3-0, although Josh Pieper went 1-for-4 with a stolen base. Tough-luck losing pitcher Mike Milkovic went the distance, fanning five and allowing just one earned run.
