The 2005 Marian menīs lacrosse season was an unqualified success. The JV finished with an outstanding 9-2 record and the Freshmen did very well at 3-3. Considering that prior to 2004 hardly anyone had ever touched a lacrosse stick these results were remarkable.
In just its second season, Marian had almost 60 players on both teams. Coach Greg Ahern's first-year team had 24 alone, most of whom were freshmen. His team showed steady improvement |

throughout the year and Marian expect great things from them in 2006.
The JV had a phenomenal year, going 9-2 in just their second year and beating some high profile programs is an outstanding feat. Marian graduated nine seniors from this team and Coach Mike McCormick wants to thank them for their strong contributions.
"As pioneers of the Marian lacrosse program my hope is they look back with pride on the great program they helped start," McCormick said.
"We are already looking forward to 2006! We return some excellent players and expect some of the new players to develop into solid contributors. We also hope to continue to attract more outstanding young men to this exciting sport. The interest has been outstanding thus far and we are confident it will continue to grow. Thank you to all the people in the administration for your support and to the students and parents who came to our games to cheer us on." |
