 OCT. 13: Meg Gilley (146) and Sammi Sloan (147) finished fourth and fifth in the state individually to lead Marian Catholic to 3rd Place and its second state trophy in three years on Saturday at Hickory Ridge Golf Center in Carbondale.
Ann Vrdolyak shot 158 to finish 31st overall, while Megan Rippey (172), Mary Kate Zagotta and Valerie Finnin rounded out Marian's 9th IHSA state trophy.
The Spartans finished 2nd in 2005 and 4th last fall.
Varsity record: 13-1. ESCC: 8-1.
