Spartans (18-14) foiled by ESCC rival Marist in sectional semis

Feb. 21- After dropping an earlier 15-point decision to ESCC champion Marist, Marian Catholic gave the RedHawks all they could handle Tuesday in the Shepard IHSA Class 4A Sectional semifinals.

Kaylen Evans paced Marian, which had won seven of eight, with nine points, while senior Mallory Olszak chipped in eight points.

Sophs: The Spartans rolled to a 42-23 decision over Nazareth Academy.

Frosh: Marian's A squad toppled the Roadrunners, 25-15.
