MAY 23: Casey Taylor state triple jump STATE CHAMPION

   Casey Taylor
turned in a triple jump effort of 39 feet, one-half inch to win the Class AA STATE CHAMPIONSHIP on Saturday at Eastern Illinois University. She also captured a fourth-place in the long jump with an effort of 18 feet, one-and-a-quarter inches.
   Mary Kate Gergel ran 12:02.3 in the 3,200-meter run on Saturday to earn a 30th place state finish.
   Becca Gustafson turned in two solid preliminary efforts on Friday, but did not advance to Saturday´s finals. Gustafson ran 15.56 in the 100-meter high hurdles and 49.04 in the 300 low hurdles.
