 Marian comeback falls short
in regional loss to Joliet Twp.
Showing a resiliency nothing like an 8-28 team, Marian Catholic battled back for a second-game win and a third-game comeback before ending its season to Joliet Township for the second straight year.
The Steelwomen avoided the upset in the Marian Class AA regional semifinals with a 25-14, 19-25, 25-18 win over the Spartans, who had a string of 14 consecutive regional crowns snapped with the loss.
Senior Chloe Blasingame led the way with 11 kills for Marian, which also got strong efforts from Lauren Neely (15 good passes) and Patrice O´Neill (15 serving points). |
