Greg Bimm has been director of bands at Marian Catholic High School since 1977. Under his direction, the Marian Band has grown from 70 to over 230 members and has earned over 450 awards and honors.
Mr. Bimm has received two National Band Association Citations of Excellence and one NBA Certificate of Merit, was named the 1983 national winner of the ASBDA Stanbury award for young band directors and in 1991 received the Sudler Order of Merit from the John Philip Sousa Foundation. Mr. Bimm has received commendations from the Illinois state legislature as well as from numerous local organizations. Bimm was elected to membership in the American Bandmasters Association, and in 1995 was the first high school director in over twenty-five years to be selected to conduct the Illinois All-State Band.
Mr. Bimm holds degrees from Illinois State and Western Illinois Universities. His professional affiliations include ABA, ASBDA, IMEA, MENC, NCBA, Phi Beta Mu, and Phi Mu Alpha. He is past chairman of the Bands of America Advisory Board, and has served as Band Division chairman, District I and state equipment manager for IMEA.
In constant demand, Mr. Bimm has performed as conductor, clinician, adjudicator, drill writer, or music arranger in over thirty states.
Mr. Lambert joined the faculty of Marian Catholic High School in 2001. Prior to coming to Marian, Mr. Lambert was the graduate assistant in saxophone performance at the University of Massachusetts under the instruction of internationally known artist, Mr. Lynn Klock. Mr. Lambert also had the opportunity to guest conduct the University of Massachusetts Wind Ensemble and study conducting under Mr. Malcomb Rowell. While at UMass, Mr. Lambert performed in masterclasses for Kenneth Fisher and Eugene Rousseau and premiered compositions of jazz great Yusef Lateef.
Mr. Lambert received his Masters of Music in saxophone performance from the University of Massachusetts and his B.S. Ed in music education from Western Carolina University. While there, he served as drum major of the Pride of the Mountains Marching Band for three years. Mr. Lambert is a leadership clinician for high school musicians and athletes, teaching clinics for drum majors and other student leaders throughout the Southeast. He has also written a workbook for high school drum majors entitled From the Podium.
In addition to teaching leadership camps, Mr. Lambert works as a drill designer for United Music Enterprises with nationally known show designer Bob Buckner. He has written shows for colleges and universities across the country. His professional affiliations include MENC, IMEA and Phi Mu Alpha.
Mr. Lambert lives in Steger with his wife Alysia, who is Choir Director at Lincoln-Way East High School.

Mr. Packer joined the faculty of Marian Catholic High School in the fall of 2007 as Director of Percussion. He is from Newburgh, Indiana, where he attended Castle High School and received the John Philip Sousa Band Award.
Mr. Packer earned his Bachelor of Music degree in percussion performance from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. He participated in the U of I Wind Symphony, Orchestra, Marching Illini, Percussion Ensemble, Steel Band, and Basketball Band. He studied percussion with William Moersch and Ricardo Flores. During his undergraduate years, Mr. Packer marched two summers with The Cavaliers Drum and Bugle Corps from Rosemont, Illinois, participating in a world championship in 2004. He earned his Master’s of Music Education plus certification from U of I in 2007. Mr. Packer studied wind band conducting and literature under Dr. Joseph Manfredo, with additional rehearsal and literature considerations under Mr. James Keene. Mr. Packer also received the Guy M. Duker Band Award in 2006 from the U of I band department.
Mr. Packer has performed for audiences all over the country and in Japan, traveling there with The Cavaliers in 2004. He has performed in the Symphony Center in Chicago and Carnegie Hall in New York City with the U of I Wind Symphony. Mr. Packer has taught and written for marching percussion sections in both Indiana and Illinois, including the head percussion position at Castle High School in 2005. His professional memberships include MENC and PAS.
Mr. Packer lives in Homewood with his wife, Roxanne, the Director of Music and Liturgy at St. Emeric Catholic Church in Country Club Hills.
