The concert season at Marian is of great importance to the band staff, who achieve a good balance between marching and concert seasons every year.
There are three concert bands at Marian Catholic, based on experience and age. The Symphonic Band consists of advanced freshman through senior, and is the most advanced group playing literature representing the Grade 6 level of difficulty. The Concert Band is the next level group. This group also consists of freshman through senior and plays literature representing the Grades 4 and 5 level of difficulty. The Cadet Band is the first level band and contains all freshmen in the Marian band program. While all freshmen have the opportunity to audition for one of the upper level groups, they must also play in the Cadet Band as well. The Cadet Band helps develop the friendship and identity that is necessary for excellent ensemble performance.
