Marian Band Competes at Bands of America Regionals in Indianapolis

Marian Band Competes at Illinois State Marching Band Championships

The Marian Catholic Marching band is the Class 4A state champion for the 23rd consecutive year. The band captured awards for best winds, best auxiliary, and best general effect for the class earning them a birth into the finals competition. In the overall finals, Marian finished second with a score of 92.60 , just behind Lake Park high school by a margin of .25 of a point.

The band will travel to Indianapolis November 8 - 10 for Bands of America Regional competition, and then again to Indianapolis for the Bands of America Grand National Championships November 14 - 16. The Marian Band is the only high school Marching band to have earned Bands of America Grand National Champion Status seven times.
 

Marian Band Competes at University of Illinois Marching Competition

On October 19^th, the Marian Band took 2^nd place in Class AA at the University of Illinois Annual Marching Contest following Prospect High School.  The Band also earned AA caption awards for Percussion and Auxiliary.  Band members will continue their preparation this week, as they look forward the State of Illinois Marching Band Championship on Saturday, October 26^th.

Marian Band Competes At Downer's Grove Marching Music Bowl

On October 12, 2002, the band earned 1^st place in the AAA division and received caption awards in Music, Visual, Percussion, and General Effect at the Downer's Grove Mustang Music Bowl.  The band was also named overall champion for the contest.  This week we continue preparation for The University of Illinois Marching Championships at Champaign, IL on October 19^th
