The Marian Catholic High School Band's 1995 marching season was both challenging and fulfilling. Mr. Bimm and his staff designed a show that was very difficult. The show, entitled "Music of the Paris Ballet", featured ballet music premiered in Paris around the turn of the century.
"Music of the Paris Ballet"
Berceuse from "The Firebird" by Igor Stravinsky (used as an introduction), "The Rite of Spring" by Igor Stravinsky (used as an opener), Daybreak from "Daphnes et Chloe" (Suite no. 2) by Maurice Ravel (used as a ballad), and General Dance from "Daphnes et Chloe" (Suite no. 2) by Maurice Ravel (used as a closer).
Eleven minutes of music and 126 sets of drill later, we look back and reflect on the memories of friendship, hard work, and good times.
The students, parents, staff, and directors worked very hard to create a piece of art. We hope you have a chance to see it. |
