Many myths shroud the search for college scholarships. Parents and students are asked to work together to maximize their opportunities. Scholarships may be issued independent of financial aid because a student meets a particular profile desired by the university or sponsoring group. Application for scholarships always takes a bit of work - but it is worth following through. The class of 2006 earned more than $9,700,000 in scholarships.
The Benish College Center has information on a variety of scholarships on file. Colleges and universities often forward information about scholarships available at their institution. When information and/or an application for a scholarship is received, it may be found in the file cabinets in the Benish Center.
Parents and students may view a list of scholarships that Marian has received information about by going to Family Connection. Sign on as a guest or as a registered user to view the Scholarship List. When we receive updated (new) information this year about the scholarship, there will be a date listed in the deadline column. Until we receive new information, it will be listed as N/A.
Scholarships searches may also be done online. You may find the websites of scholarship searches by accessing our College Resources. When applying for scholarships remember to complete the Scholarship Transcript Request Form and turn this form in along with the scholarship application in to the Guidance department at least two weeks before the deadline.
