It is the policy of Marian Catholic High School to make technology available to the entire student body. Teachers are encouraged to make use of the computer lab or wireless laptops with their classes. Students are welcomed into the lab before, during, and after school. Each workstation consists of a monitor, hard drive, keyboard, mouse, access to a network printer, Internet availability, and access to a personal drive on the MCHS network. The use of the MCHS computer lab is a privilege.
Please read and understand the Marian Acceptable Use Policy, in addition the following rules apply:
.Computers are to be used to complete assignments or projects. NO GAME PLAYING, email, instant messaging, other software or inappropriate use of equipment is allowed. Violations of this rule will result in immediate detention. Further violations will result in forfeit of the use of computers, regardless of class requirements.
.Eating, drinking, and gum chewing are NOT permitted in the computer lab at any time.
.Students will be required to show a signed pass from a teacher to use the computer lab. This includes lunch periods. Passes are to be signed by the teacher who has assigned the work, not study hall moderator.
.Passes from Emmaus will NOT be honored.
.Printing is restricted to what is necessary. Excessive printing of Web pages or printing pages that are for personal use is not allowed.
.Dress code will be enforced at all times.
.Disruptive behavior and language will not be tolerated. The lab is for research and study in a 'library type' environment. Visitors will conduct themselves in a manner conducive to learning.
.Before leaving a workstation, visitors must close all applications and log out of personal account. Neglecting to close account may result in suspension of lab privileges.
.Computers should be left ON when leaving workstation. Chairs should be pushed in to allow for traffic flow in the lab. Workstation should be left clean and free of debris, personal items, or litter.
.The computer lab is open for use from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. daily except when announced.
