The Technical Director (TD) for Theatre is responsible for overseeing all technical aspects of the school's theatre productions, including set design and construction, lighting, sound, and props. The TD works closely with the Theatre Director, students, and other faculty members to ensure high-quality technical support for all productions and events. This position requires strong leadership skills, technical expertise, and a passion for working with high school students in a collaborative, educational environment. The Fine Arts Department is looking for a TD for the Fall Play with a production at the end of October and IHSA GI/Contest Play Sectional Competition on March 22nd. The ideal candidate will be able to start right away.
Key Responsibilities:

Technical Leadership and Management:

Oversee all technical elements of theatre productions, including set design, construction, lighting, sound, and special effects.

Supervise and mentor students and volunteers involved in technical theatre, providing hands-on training and guidance.

Ensure all technical aspects are executed according to the production schedule and budget.

Set Design and Construction:
-
Collaborate with the Theatre Director and design team to develop and implement creative and practical set designs.
-
Lead and participate in the construction, painting, and assembly of sets, ensuring they are safe, functional, and visually appealing.

Ensure the workshop and storage areas are organized and safe.

Touch up/maintain set quality as needed

Lighting and Sound Design:
-
Work with light design and implement lighting and sound plans for all productions, ensuring they enhance the overall production and meet artistic goals.

Program and operate lighting and sound equipment during rehearsals and performances.

Understand the usage of the technology on both the lighting and sound boards.

Safety and Compliance:
-
Ensure all technical theatre activities comply with school policies and safety regulations.

Develop and enforce safety protocols and procedures for students and volunteers.

Collaboration and Communication:

Work closely with the Theatre Director, faculty, and other staff members to plan and execute productions and events.

Attend production meetings, rehearsals, and performances as needed.

Communicate effectively with students, parents, and other community members about technical needs and opportunities.

Budget Management:

Track expenses and ensure all purchases are within budget.

Note For IHSA GI/Contest Play: Marian Catholic only competes in GI. The set is built, but may require minor maintenance. Fine Arts is primarily looking for someone to manage the theater during the competition on March 22nd. This individual should have familiarity with Marian Catholic's space and be quick on their feet to troubleshoot any potential issues that may arise.
Qualifications:

Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in technical theatre production, preferably in an educational or youth setting.

Proven experience in set construction, lighting and sound design/

Strong technical skills in theatre production, including carpentry, electrical work, and audio-visual technology.

Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with high school students and faculty.

Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
-
Must be able to lift and move heavy equipment and materials.
-
Ability to work evenings, some weekends, and extended hours during production periods.

Must be comfortable working at heights, including on ladders and scaffolding.

The High School Theatre Program Costumer is responsible for designing, creating, obtaining, and managing all costumes for the school's theatre productions. This role involves collaborating with the Theatre Director, design team, and students to develop costumes that enhance the visual storytelling of each production while staying within budget and meeting the unique needs of a high school environment. The ideal candidate is creative, organized, and passionate about costume design and working with students. The Fall Play is in October and the Spring Musical is in April. The ideal candidate will be able to start right away.
Key Responsibilities:

Costume Design and Creation:

Collaborate with the Theatre Director and design team to conceptualize and design costumes that align with the vision and theme of each production.

Source, alter, or construct costumes for all productions, ensuring they fit the performers properly and are appropriate for the character and period.

Manage fittings and make necessary alterations to ensure costumes are stage-ready.

Collaboration and Communication:

Work closely with the director, production team, and other design staff to ensure costumes integrate seamlessly with other design elements, such as lighting and set design.

Attend production meetings, rehearsals, and performances as required.

Maintain a well-organized costume shop.

Marian Catholic High School in Chicago Heights, Illinois, is seeking part-time tutors to work in our tutoring center for the school year, from late August through late May.
Hours Daily: 7:30-2:20 PM
Salary: $105/day
Tutor responsibilities include:
- become familiar with Marian Catholic’s curriculum and expectations
- explaining key concepts to students
- guiding students to help them complete their homework
- studying with students for assessments
- reviewing students’ time management and executive functioning skills
- communicating with teachers and counselors regarding how to best serve students
The ideal candidate will:
- be joyful, flexible, communicative, collaborative, and tech savvy
- enjoy working with students to foster a healthy, supportive learning environment
- be well-versed in modern teaching methods, including the use of the iPad in the classroom and the use of Zoom

These positions are part-time and receive a stipend, with individuals receiving payment via invoicing through federal Title programs.

Description
An Advancement Intern is an unpaid position which will work closely with the Marian Catholic High School Advancement Team in the areas of advancement, marketing, public relations, event planning, annual giving and alumni relations. The Marian Catholic High School Internship Program is intended to assist Marian Catholic alumni gain practical experience, use and hone their skills, foster their professional development, and facilitate their transition from college to work. Interns are not employees of Marian Catholic High School and will not be entitled to a job or position at Marian Catholic at the conclusion of the internship.
Duties include attending staff meetings; assisting the Advancement Department; maintaining the Marian Catholic social networks; contacting benefactors and alumni; mailings; assisting in the development and dissemination of marketing pieces; assisting in the planning and execution of events; performing other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Strong consideration will be given to graduates of Marian Catholic High School who possess a deep Catholic and Dominican identity and have received or are actively working towards a Bachelor’s degree in marketing/advertising/communication/education/English or related degree. The candidate must be proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and database management. The successful candidate will be: a self-starter, detailed orientated, highly organized, able to handle several projects simultaneously, flexible with their schedule (including evenings), and able to meet deadlines. The candidate must possess: excellent writing and communication skills, a high level of integrity, and a positive attitude. Photography, graphic arts and digital editing skills are a plus.
