Transportation
Students from nearly 70 zip codes in South Suburban Chicago and Northwest Indiana attend Marian Catholic; and, to help parents with transportation, we offer a morning-only pick-up service for students.
Routes included in the service go east, west, and north of Marian Catholic's campus.
Route #1 - Indiana - Merrillville/Saint John/Schererville/Munster/Dyer
Route #2 - Monee/Crete/University Park/Sauk Village/Steger/Park Forest/Chicago Heights/Richton Park
Route# 3 - Lansing/Glenwood/Lynwood
Route #4- SE Chicago/Calumet Cty/Dolton/South Holland
Route # 5- New Lenox/Tinley Park/Orland Park/Oak Forest/W. Matteson
Route #6- SW Chicago/Country Club Hills/Hazel Crest/ Homewood/E. Matteson
The morning pick-up service uses a pick-up points system. This means students and parents meet a Marian Catholic vehicle at a public location, such as a church parking lot. Doing this instead of door-to-door pick up reduces the number of stops and allows for shorter routes.
Fees for the morning transportation service:
- Freshmen: Free
- Sophomores: $400 per semester
- Juniors and Seniors: $450 per semester
For more information, please contact Mary Ann West, Director of Student Support Services, Student Transportation, and Building Usage.
After-School Supervision
Although the transportation service is only offered in the morning due to various student schedules and vehicles occupied by after-school extracurricular activities, Marian Catholic provides free after-school supervision in the Leadership Center until 5:30 p.m. every day. Food is served until 4 p.m., so students do not have to leave campus if they want a snack or dinner before or after meetings or practices.
