Marian Catholic High School Band

 

On Saturday, February 17, Marian's three concert bands performed at the 38th annual "State of the Art" band contest held at St Rita High School. The contest included 17 bands from the Chicago area. The Cadet Band placed first in Class 1A and was awarded Best Woodwinds.

The Symphonic and Concert bands placed first and second in class 3A with the Concert Band receiving Best Percussion and the Symphonic Band receiving Best Bras and Best Woodwinds. Marian's Symphonic Band was named the Grand Champion which marked 38 consecutive undefeated years in Catholic School Competition.

 

Winterguard opened their season with a first place finish in class at Naperville North!

 

Seven members of the Marian Catholic band were selected to perform at the Illinois Music Educators Conference in Peoria held in November. Students spent 3 days preparing music with renowned conductors and finished the weekend with a performance at the Peoria Convention Center. Congratulations to Erik Curtis, Angelina Einert, Ana Godinez, Matt Hrinda, Jacob Kopczyk, Joseph Musharbash, and Anthony Soria for representing Marian Catholic well at the All-State conference.
