MCN: The Marian Catholic Network

Broadcasting Excellence Every Day

Broadcast Crew

The student-run Broadcasting Team at Marian Catholic covers nearly every aspect of Spartan life on campus as well as many off-campus events. The goal of the team is to provide students the opportunity to experience every aspect of both taped and live media production. Production opportunities at MCN require numerous student volunteers in various production roles such as directors, editors and announcers, camera operators, and audio mixers. Broadcasting is very much a team activity; the concept is reinforced as seniors take lead positions and coach underclassmen in the skills needed to create a variety of high-quality productions.

A student need not take a specific class to join the Broadcasting Team. Intro to TV & Video Production and Television and Video Production II classes offer extensive instruction for those students interested in exploring editing and graphics design. A professional broadcast studio and editing lab provide the creative space for students to develop their talents.

The MCN slate of shows continues to grow each year under our motto, WE SEE EVERYTHING! It is something we strive for every day.

The Marian Catholic News is a weekly produced show highlighting all things going on, not only at Marian Catholic, but also in the world. In addition, Marian Catholic News includes a sports and weather segment.

Good Morning Marian Catholic is a monthly produced show that provides in- depth reporting about issues affecting Marian Catholic students as well as highlighting student talents and achievements.

Sports Production is a large part of the MCN lineup that includes the broadcast of nearly every varsity home game. The Marian Catholic Network is proud to produce multi-camera productions of its athletic events and continues to invest in training and gear to bring the best possible viewing experience to Spartan fans.
