Community Period
Community is an integral aspect of our Dominican heritage. Rooted in the value of relationships, the Dominican concept of community acknowledges the value of all persons and the interrelatedness of all creation. Dominicans believe that, in community, what we do together is stronger than our individual endeavors.
Marian Catholic provides students with numerous opportunities to build community, including eight Community Periods (four in the 1st semester and four in the 2nd semester) during the day on Wednesdays. The Community Period offers a universal space and time for students and faculty to come together to share common interests as well as explore new endeavors.
During Community Period students can attend Mass, seek help from a teacher, participate in extracurricular activities, attend guest speaker presentations, or just socialize with each other; things they may not be able to participate in after school due to after-school commitments.
